ALIVE IN THE WORD MINISTRY™ began in 2007 as an
informal 1-hour study held on Saturday called ALIVE@5. The atmosphere is not
mired in tradition, free from condemnation/judgment, and interactive where
questions can be openly asked. It is a
study that refuses to do church as frequently expected but is geared to the
learning styles of today.
Target
Audience:
v Singles and families
who are Unsaved(never made a confession or accepted Christ in their lives),
v Un-churched (maybe
unsaved or saved, but are not connected
to or attending a fellowship)
v Persons who have been
turned off by misleading or misguided teachings or interactions in the church,
v People who are confused
or who have been overwhelmed by tradition.

Statement of Faith:
v
There
is one God, existing eternally in
three persons (Trinity): God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit John 10:30; John 14:26;
Philippians 2:5-7
v
The Bible is the infallible Word of God,
inspired by the Holy Spirit, which contains guidance, empowerment, and encouragement
for everyday life. Where the bible
speaks we speak and where the bible is silent we are silent…2 Timothy 3:16, 17;
2 Peter 1:20, 21
v
Salvation is God’s free gift to
all. It is not a result of what we do,
but is through God’s grace. Salvation is
received by admitting we have sinned and belief in the death, burial and
resurrection of Christ, and accepting Him as Lord. Through salvation we can
spend eternity with God. John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 5:1; Romans 3:24

We
believe in water baptism as taught
and demonstrated by Jesus (through immersion) as the way for believers to
identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and their new life as
a believer. Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17
v
The
Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He empowers the believer to develop
the character of Christ and live every day in God’s will. Matthew 3:11; Acts
2:4; John
v
God
gives all believers Spiritual Gifts.
They are for the strengthening of God’s people (the Church). The gifts of the
Spirit are active and relevant today. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10

The
act of Communion, as often as you do
this you so forth by death and suffering…
